3 weeks till we go...

Hello friends!
Things are coming together nicely. My visa arrived early, my sister & brother-in-law got me "The Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Travel", and I found the kind of mosquito net I need! We're just hoping that last one will arrive in time.
For now, I'm working on seminary applications and visiting with family a LOT :) We're driving up to Indiana the day after Christmas for more of the same, with more family, and hoping that we don't encounter too much snow.
I have now shown everyone in my immediate family pictures from Cape Coast, Ghana, and let my Sunday School class (though I rarely see them, they're awesome people) know that I'll be gone. Most of the people in both of my churches are aware now, I think. Now I need to ask them about going to CCC this year...
It is also becoming all the more obvious that a trip to Greensboro would be a great idea. I had a dream about seeing people like Matt Reed & Sylvia in the caf, and many other interesting things. I should be at school sometime early during the week of the 7th, though I don't know what club meetings I'll catch, and maybe I can stay on someone's couch?
Anyway! Everything's fine, I'm looking forward to my trip, and I'm leaving on January 14th (from here in the morning, eventually flying out of the DC area). Wish me luck on finishing those apps!
thanks for caring ^_^

I'm going to Ghana!

It's rather official at this point- I've turned in all of my paperwork, my plane ticket is paid for, I know where I'm living (sort of... next thing on to-do list: get a map of Cape Coast) and I'm going to Ghana! This is a Guilford study abroad program, so I'm not technically graduating yet, I'm just spending my last semester abroad. It's an unconventional move, but it feels right and I'm being allowed to do it, so yay!
In case you want to know, I am hoping/planning/applying to go to divinity school next year at one of these 5 places: Duke, Claremont, Candler (at Emory), Wesley, and Claremont. I'm praying that one of these turns out to be as perfect for me as Guilford has been.
In the meantime, though, I'm being led toward Africa, and goodness knows what kinds of experiences I'll have there. I can't wait! Oh, except for all the stuff I need to get done before then ;) if only time would warp to the exact rate I desire at my every whim... o well. ;) Everything should be fine and good.
To fill folks in on the details of this "fine and good" I plan to use this handy-dandy blog! So, feel free to email me (my Guilford account still works), but please, for the sake of my tendency to be a horrible penpal, ask me specific questions... I'm 10x more likely to respond.
*muah* and *hugs*.
